Open House Sekolah Kallista

Friday and Saturday, 26th-27th of Feb, Sekolah Kallista organised its yearly Open House event, as well as the celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year. The event aims to launch its newly established Cambridge Curriculum (IGCSE) for Lower and Higher Secondary levels and already ongoing Character Building Programme for the school year of 2015/2016.

Venued at Sekolah Kallista area in Batam Centre, the event was enlivened with various competitions, ranging from artistic singing and colouring contest ‘Kallista’s Got Talent’, to ‘Kallista Cup Football and Basketball Competition’, where students from different schools competed with each other. It was also filled with a dozen of performances on stage, bazaar booths, and more.

The next day was the celebration of Chinese new year festivities, where attendees dressed in red costumes, symbolising good fortune and joy.

Quality assurance auditor Subroto, S.Pd., M.M. stated that this event, themed “Reach Higher: Cambridge IGCSE Programme and Character Building”, will be able to increase students’ achievements, especially those related to internationally standardised competencies. He hoped that by implementing Character Building Programme, the internationalisation will not eliminate cultural wisdom and local ethics.

The event was successfully held thanks to the collaboration of teachers, staff and parents who worked hard together and make (this) possible.” Deny Setiyadi, event chairman who works at Sekolah Kallista as a Science and German teacher, stated. “I hope the programmes such as Kallista Cup and Search for Ambassadors (in English, Maths, Science, and Mandarin) can encourage Kallista students to be more globally competitive, both in academics and non-academics.” He added.

Admission for new students for school year 2016/2017 is currently open.
